Our approach

SparkWrite is designed for writing practice. Please do not include names, addresses, school names, contact details, or other personal information in a writing response. Parents or guardians should supervise children's use of the service.

Who manages your information

Cloud Insight operates SparkWrite. Contact us about privacy at support@cloudinsight.au.

Information we collect

When an account is created, we collect an email address, optional first name and a securely hashed password. We also store writing drafts, plans, feedback, progress and subscription status when you choose to use those features. Writing and progress may be stored in your browser and in our database when you are signed in.

How we use information

We use account information to provide sign-in and saved progress, writing information to provide feedback and improve the experience, and subscription information to manage access. We do not sell personal information or use student writing for advertising.

AI coaching

When you request coaching, the writing and task you submit are sent to OpenAI to produce feedback. OpenAI may process this information outside Australia. Only send work you are comfortable sharing for this purpose, and do not include personal details. You can practise without requesting coaching.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. SparkWrite does not receive or store full card details. Stripe handles payment information under its own privacy policy.

Service providers and overseas disclosures

We use service providers to run SparkWrite, including OpenAI for optional coaching and Stripe for payments. Those providers may process information in countries outside Australia. We share only what is needed to provide the relevant service.

Cookies and device storage

We use an essential session cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser may also store writing progress locally so it remains available between visits. You can clear this local data through your browser settings.

Keeping information safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please keep account passwords private.

Your choices

You may ask to access, correct or delete your account information by emailing support@cloudinsight.au. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

Retention and complaints

We keep account and saved-writing information while your account remains open, unless we need it for legal, security or billing records. Ask us to delete your account and we will explain what can be removed and any information we must retain. If you are unhappy with our response to a privacy concern, contact us first so we can investigate and respond.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SparkWrite changes. We will publish the updated version here and change the date above.
